Prelove You is not a thrift store or consignment shop — it is a membership-based circular system designed specifically for modern families managing the relentless cycle of children’s outgrown clothing. Where thrift stores accept donations and sell them anonymously, and consignment shops require parents to photograph, list, negotiate, and wait for a sale, Prelove You replaces all of that friction with a repeatable household system: send in what your kids have outgrown, receive credits, and shop a curated selection of high-quality, preloved children’s clothing — without the overwhelm.

The difference is structural, not just aesthetic. Thrift and consignment put the labor on the parent. Prelove You removes it. There are no listings to manage, no buyers to chase, no decisions about whether something is good enough to donate. You send it in. We handle everything. You get credits to use however and whenever you want.

It is also worth noting what Prelove You accepts that thrift and consignment do not: end-of-life items. Stained, worn, past their wearable life — we take those too and route them responsibly through our recycling and upcycling partners rather than the landfill.

Prelove You is a new category. Not resale. Not donation. A household system with soul.

Prelove You works on a credit-based membership model: members send in their children’s outgrown clothing, receive credits for each item, and use those credits to shop for high-quality preloved children’s pieces on the platform. The system is designed to repeat — season after season — so that managing your kids’ wardrobes becomes a built-in household flow rather than an ongoing source of stress.

Membership Tiers:

Lite — $35/month: The entry-level tier. You cover your own shipping costs to send items in and to receive purchases.

Luxe — $65/month: The core experience. You receive one prepaid shipping kit per month to send items in, and pay a $9.95 flat fee on purchases.

Limitless — $95/month: The full system, fully supported. Request unlimited prepaid shipping kits as needed, and receive free shipping on all purchases.

Seasonal — $195: A flexible option for families who want to participate around key wardrobe moments — back-to-school, spring refresh, winter transitions.

Credits are issued once your items have been graded by our team, which takes 5-7 business days. Every item that passes grading earns credits toward your next shop. Items that do not meet wear-again standards still earn 1 credit each — and are routed responsibly through our textile recycling partners rather than the landfill.

Children are central to this system. Shopping with credits gives kids a real, tangible way to understand value, make choices, and develop their own sense of style.

Yes — Prelove You accepts end-of-life children’s clothing, including items that are stained, heavily worn, or past their wearable life. This is one of the most important things that makes Prelove You different from every other secondhand platform for kids.

Most resale and consignment services require clothing to be in near-perfect condition, which means parents are left holding the items that did not make the cut — the ones with the spaghetti stain from the first birthday, the knees worn through from the best summer of someone’s childhood. Those pieces end up in a bag in the trunk, in a pile in the basement, or eventually in the landfill.

At Prelove You, you do not have to make that call. Send everything in. Our team grades each item. Pieces that meet our wear-again standards are added to the platform. Items that do not still earn you 1 credit each, and are collected by our textile recycling and upcycling partners — Green Tree Textile Recycling — where they are processed responsibly and kept out of landfill.

The only items we do not accept are pre-worn socks and underwear (for hygiene), and hair accessories such as headbands and barrettes. Everything else — including hats — is welcome.

You do not need to sort, grade, or make decisions before you send. That is the point. Send it all. Let the system work.

Prelove You reduces children’s clothing waste by creating a closed-loop system in which kids’ outgrown clothing is kept in circulation — worn, returned, regraded, and reworn — rather than discarded. Children outgrow clothing faster than almost any other consumer category, which means the volume of kids’ clothing moving toward landfill is significant and largely invisible. Prelove You is built to interrupt that cycle at the household level.

How the system works at the environmental level:

Send in what’s outgrown. Members pack up their children’s outgrown clothing and send it to Prelove You. No sorting required. Every item is accepted, regardless of condition.

We grade and circulate. Items that meet our wear-again criteria are added to the platform and made available to other member families. High-quality pieces from brands like Mini Boden, Veja, Stella McCartney Kids, Ralph Lauren, and Carter’s find their next child rather than a donation bin.

End-of-life items are rerouted, not discarded. Pieces that cannot continue as wearable inventory are collected by our textile recycling and upcycling partners at Green Tree Textile Recycling.

The system repeats. Because membership is ongoing and the credit model incentivizes regular participation, families build a household habit rather than making a one-time environmental gesture.

Prelove You has diverted thousands of pounds of children’s clothing from landfill and offset significant CO2 to date — and that number grows every time a member sends in a bag.

The best times to send in outgrown children’s clothing are at seasonal transitions — particularly back-to-school (August-September), spring wardrobe refresh (March-April), and fall/winter prep (October-November). These are the moments when kids have grown the most and the gap between what they have and what they need is most obvious.

That said, Prelove You is built to work year-round, not just at seasonal peaks. The most effective members treat it as a standing household habit: when something is outgrown, it goes in the send-in bag. When the bag is full, it ships.

Prompts that signal it’s time to send:
– Your child has had a growth spurt and you’re pulling the next size up
– The season is changing and last year’s coats, boots, or swimwear no longer fit
– Back-to-school shopping is coming and you want credits ready before you shop
– You have a birthday or holiday coming up and a refreshed wardrobe feels right

Luxe and Limitless members have prepaid shipping kits available, so there is no barrier to sending whenever the moment arises. Lite members arrange their own shipping and can send as frequently as they like.

The system is designed to be responsive to real family life — not scheduled, not seasonal-only, not a once-a-year event.

Prelove You was built for families who want the smarter choice to also be the easier one. If you care about reducing textile waste, extending the life of quality clothing, keeping good pieces in circulation, and building household habits that your children can actually understand and participate in — yes, Prelove You was designed with you in mind.

What makes Prelove You different from a sustainability gesture is that it is a system, not a sacrifice. You are not giving something up. You are replacing a broken, chaotic process — the trunk full of bags, the donation pile, the guilt about what to do with the stained ones — with one that works, repeats, and feels genuinely good.

The credit model is central to this. It connects the act of letting go with the act of gaining something new. Your child sends in what no longer fits and gets credits to choose what comes next. That loop — give, receive, repeat — is the foundation of a circular household, and it makes conscious consumption tangible for kids in a way that no lecture or label ever could.

Prelove You is also transparent about where clothing goes. Wearable pieces go back into circulation on the platform. End-of-life pieces go to Green Tree Textile Recycling for responsible upcycling and processing. Nothing disappears into an anonymous donation bin or an uncertain supply chain.

For families raising children with intention — about consumption, about value, about the choices behind what they wear — Prelove You is infrastructure, not ideology.

Every item you send to Prelove You goes through a clear, transparent process — nothing disappears into a void.

Step 1 — Receiving. Your package arrives at our facility and is logged into the system. No item is overlooked.

Step 2 — Grading. Our team assesses every piece within 5-7 business days. Items are evaluated for quality, condition, and wearability.

Step 3a — If it passes grading. The item is cleaned, prepped, and added to the Prelove You platform, where it becomes available to other member families shopping for high-quality preloved children’s clothing. You receive credits for each piece that makes it through.

Step 3b — If it does not pass grading. The item still earns you 1 credit. It is then collected by our textile recycling and upcycling partners at Green Tree Textile Recycling, where it is processed responsibly and kept entirely out of landfill.

Step 4 — You shop. Your credits are available in your account to use toward any item on the platform — from everyday Carter’s and Cat & Jack basics to premium pieces from brands like Mini Boden, Veja, Misha & Puff, and Stella McCartney Kids.

Prelove You is also building a digital library card system — a way for you to follow the journey of the pieces you loved and let go of, so the experience never feels anonymous or forgotten. Clothing holds memory. We built the system to honor that.

Yes — Prelove You accepts and carries a wide range of premium and designer children’s brands alongside everyday favorites. The platform is built for quality across the full spectrum, from trusted everyday labels to investment-level pieces worth passing on.

Premium and designer brands on the platform include: Bonpoint, Burberry, Stella McCartney Kids, Misha & Puff, Soor Ploom, Oeuf, Veja, Mini Boden, Bobo Choses, Go Gently Nation, Ralph Lauren, UGG, Repose AMS.

Everyday quality brands include: Carter’s, Cat & Jack, Old Navy, Children’s Place, Baby Gap, Gerber, Honest Company, Adidas, Zara.

This range matters. Preloved designer children’s clothing holds its quality through multiple wearers — which is exactly what the Prelove You system is designed to support. A Bonpoint coat or a pair of Veja sneakers that a child wore for one season still has multiple seasons of life left. Sending those pieces into the Prelove You system means they find a family who will love them just as much — and that their value is honored rather than lost to a donation bin.

When you send in premium pieces, you earn credits that reflect the quality of what you have contributed. And when you shop, you have access to those same premium pieces at a fraction of their original retail price — because another family believed they were worth passing on.
