Ways tariffs will shake up kids' clothing

“Moms are human lie detectors with heart.”

Each month we celebrate the heart of Prelove You: our members! This month we’re catching up with Chrissy Hull, mom of Jayson, 18, Jaycob, 17, Cohen, 7 and Cayde, 3

What’s the most unexpected gem you’ve found on Prelove You—something you didn’t know you needed until it popped up?

Trendy pants for my toddler! My little guy lives in shorts, so I never—and I mean never—would’ve bought him corduroy pants or multiple pairs of jeans. It always felt like a one-and-done situation. But Prelove You changed that. The pieces were so cute, I couldn’t resist…and knowing everything is recycled and loved again makes it even better. I adore the whole concept.

If Prelove You gave out awards, what would you win?

“Fastest Cart Clicker.” If I see something good, I’m like lightning. Four boys taught me to move fast or miss out. (That applies to snacks, shoes, and cute kids’ outfits.)

What’s something you swore you’d never do as a parent… and now totally do?

Let my kids have snacks in the car. I swore my SUV would stay clean. Now I just pray no one steps on the fries while I’m buckling a toddler in.

What’s your own go-to “we’re late but I want to look like I have it together” outfit or hack?

Black leggings, a fitted black tee, an oversized blazer, and sunglasses. If my outfit is struggling, sunglasses & black hide everything—including the fact that I was up late packing lunches or negotiating with a toddler.

Tell us about the last time your kid(s) completely humbled you in public.

Cohen loudly announced in line at Target that I “forgot to brush my hair today”, and Cayde saying “momma I went poop” it’s stinky. Neither were wrong, and the lady behind us nodded like she understood my entire life story in that moment.

What does “me time” actually look like these days? (Honest answers only.)

A quiet car ride. 15 minute hot tub soak.  Ten minutes in the bathroom with no one knocking. A late-night scroll when everyone is finally asleep. It’s not glamorous—but it’s peaceful, and sometimes that’s enough.

If parenting came with a soundtrack, what would your theme song be this week?

“Survivor” by Destiny’s Child. Between working essentially two jobs, kid activities, toddler/ teenagers, laundry, dishes, cooking, and life, I am absolutely surviving, and somehow still thriving.

What’s your secret mom superpower that no one talks about—but totally should?

Reading the emotional temperature of the room instantly. I can tell which kid needs food, who needs a hug, and who needs space—all in seconds. Moms are human lie detectors with heart.

What’s one sustainable parenting hack or tip you wish you could text to your pre-mom self?

Buy fewer things and choose pieces you can pass down. You don’t need 20 shirts —you need a few that wash well, last long, and spark joy when your kids put them on.

What’s one tiny moment from the past week that made you stop and think, “Okay, this is the good stuff”?

Cayde hugging Cohen at pick-up and saying, “I missed you today.” It was two seconds but I swear it filled my whole heart. These are the moments that make the chaos worth it.
